Mahima Ashaneer

With the beginning of its function on 18.02.2025, Mahima Ashaneer is a day-and-night shelter home located in Sonagachi, Kolkata’s largest red-light district, offering safety, care, and holistic development to the 15 most vulnerable daughters of sex workers. Established to protect these girls from the dangers of night time exploitation, Ashaneer provides secure housing, nutritious meals, healthcare, education support, vocational training, and emotional counseling. Designed as a two-story, child-friendly facility with professional staff, Ashaneer is more than a shelter—it is a space of healing, growth, and dignity, empowering girls to break the cycle of exploitation and build brighter futures.
